POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Responsible for the daily support of ERP and Integration systems including QAD and Boomi in the following key areas:

    • EDI Services / Support with trading partner setups and mapping in QAD

    • ASN Support issues

    • SQL database support

    • Boomi integrations

  • Responsible for project deliverables by defined dates and according to project management methodology including:

    • Technical specification

    • Unit / System tests

    • Change control

  • Collaborate with other teams (Purchasing, Sales, Materials, Quality, etc.) to ensure integrated system is configured and processing correctly

  • Support legacy application databases


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, or related to Information Technology or Operations Management

  • 5+ years of experience supporting QAD EB21 &/or 2009 SE and Progress (OE 11 & OE 13) in a Linux/Unix environment

  • 5+ years of High-level OE Progress programming and QAD code development

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing corporation.

  • 5+ years of experience with basic Linux Administration (basic commands, functionality, troubleshooting).

  • 5+ years of EDI and other data interfacing tools/applications.

  • 2+ years of building integrations using Dell Boomi.

  • SQL language proficiency with at least one of the common database platforms such as SQL Server.


DESIRED:

  • 5+ years of .NET & Crystal Reports experience and development.

  • Automotive experience.

Progress / Linux Systems Manager

SUMMARY:
Provide support for all employees in the areas of programming, documenting, systems and oversee database administration of all LINUX / Progress environments. Reports to Corporate Manager of Information Technology.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyze user requirements as it pertains to the proper extraction and manipulation of information from the core business system to include lead programming responsibilities in the Progress environment.

2. Helps write, approve and maintain all technical specifications, work instructions, technical layouts and process flow documentation.

3. Plans, helps with the installation, testing of all programs as part of the company Process and Change Control efforts.

4. Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from the user community regarding errors, problems or questions about programs and/or the proper use of the systems.

5. Direct management and oversight of the Progress Database Administrator / Program Analyst II position.

6. Perform ongoing evaluation and analysis of all critical business system effectiveness as part of a continuous improvement program.

7. Maintain the data warehouse architecture for historical archiving and reporting to include database maintenance, performance tuning and employee training.

8. Project Management responsibilities.

Senior QAD DBA/Linux Administrator

The Senior QAD/DBA/Linux Administrator will work remotely with an existing Managed Services QAD Technical team, supporting clients across the Globe for 20+ versions of QAD and Progress all running on several different platforms. The candidate can live anywhere in the US, working remotely and must be currently eligible to work for any US employer.  Work shifts vary, some days, but evening/night and weekend hours are also available.  There is no travel required for this role.
 

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience supporting QAD 2009SE or EE and newer and Progress 10.2B or newer.

  • Progress Database Administration (DBA) hands on experience, 5+ years or more

  •  QAD ERP System support experience (ability to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, tune, make changes), 5+ years of hands-on technical support

  • Linux Administration (advanced commands, tuning, scripting, functionality, troubleshooting, printers, emails)

  • Progress Application Server support and troubleshooting experience

  • Tomcat Administration

  • Networking experience, particularly in a Linux environment

  • QAD Installation and configuration experience

  • Experience with Virtualization, Backups, Disaster Recovery and Security


Candidates must also be very strong communicators, willing and able to talk by phone with clients, managers and colleagues and troubleshoot QAD/Progress in a live setting with client stakeholders observing the process. An ability to tenaciously solve problems and improve processes is required, as is a strong ability to develop and revise documentation for procedures and/or system documentation. Candidates must also be able to work within a controlled environment which is audited each year under SOC 1 Type 2 standards.
