Business Analyst

Under the direction of the Manager- ERP Systems, the I.T. Business Analyst is responsible for gathering business requirements, performing fact-finding activities that may result in new development or implementation of a new software solution or process improvements/simplifications.  This position will also be responsible for the research and project management of systems enhancements along with participating as a team member on larger projects, including coordinating tasks, defining the project scope, establish timeline/milestones and perform post-mortem reviews. Must be a leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with and coordinating cross-functional teams, and produce results on multiple projects at the same time.  Must be results oriented and eager to tackle difficult problems with a positive attitude.

Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 3-5 yrs ERP experience; 2-3 yrs experience as a Programmer/Analyst; project management experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the skills and abilities to perform the job.  Should be familiar with ERP related Accounting, Sales Order Processing, Purchasing, Security, and Segregation of Duties. Not required but considered a plus: QAD experience, SQL experience, other ERP functionality experience, EDI experience, Engineering or similar background.  Progress ABL, and Windows or Unix OS skills a definite plus.


Job Duties

  • Provides support to, and communicates with functional managers, process owners, and end users; analyzes process improvement and simplification opportunities and helps define systems and process changes or information requirements; develops specifications based on these requirements.

  • Serves as a project leader with programming, technical, vendor and business personnel to determine system requirements, resource requirements, installation and implementation plans.

  • Defines project tasks and assist management with task assignment, establishing timeframes, project milestones, progress monitoring, and requirements compliance. 

  • Provides analysis of data or aids users in the retrieval and interpretation of data.

  • Develops an understanding of business processes and evaluates the business implications of system development and maintenance issues.

  • Maintains in depth understanding of the Mueller’s business systems in Sales, Procurement, and Accounting management as well as QAD Security and Segregation of Duties.

  • Maintains a moderate understanding of each of Mueller’s business areas and works with other IT analysts or business consultants on large cross-functional projects.

  • Accurately and timely identifies program, application, and system problems and assists in troubleshooting the cause.

  • Mentors less experienced IT personnel.

  • Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

QAD Consultant (Manufacturing/Distribution/Supply Chain/Project Management)

Qualifications found in the ideal candidate will include:

  • QAD Manufacturing, Distribution or Supply Chain experience 3-5 years,
  • Enterprise Edition/EE ideal, Standard Edition/SE a good second choice.

  • Experience on an implementation or upgrade project desired and hands-on QAD experience required.

  • Candidates will come from a manufacturing, supply chain or distribution background and have extensive knowledge of operational best practices, especially in the automotive or automotive provider sector.

  • Needed is hands-on understanding of manufacturing business processes such as Material Requirements Planning/MRP, Work Order Processing, Inventory Control, Lot/Serial Tracking in addition to Sales Order and Purchase Order Processing. Experience in Advanced Repetitive functionality, Lean concepts and 21 CFR Part 11 Validation Requirements is a plus. Project Management experience is a plus.

  • Home base can be any location in the USA providing you are close to a major US airport, but Midwest, Northeast or East Coast are strongly preferred. Need to travel will be anywhere from 50-80%, depending upon home city and project work.

  • Candidates must have professional management-level communication skills with an ability to speak with C-level customers, Directors, Managers and diverse user groups about the software & implementation process.

  • A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc. from an internationally accredited university is required.

  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, cGMP, GDP, CCSP, APICS, 21 CFR Part 11 Validation, etc. strongly desired.

  • Vertical expertise in Automotive, Life Science, Manufacturing, Electronics, CPG and or Food & Beverage desired.

  • Play a key role in the transition to QAD Cloud and industry 4.0 digital transformation.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain or related field.

  • 3+ years experience with QAD ERP in a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years experience working with complex ERP implementation projects

  • Experience working with EDI

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP best practices

  • Experience in Progress 4GL and QAD data migration tools and processes.

  • Automotive / OEM manufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Word, and Excel

Senior Solution Consultant - Pre-Sales

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strong pre-sales/sales support related skills, well versed with RFP/RFI process in an IT Services Organization

Skills required:
