IT Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
Provide direction and support to support team to ensure smooth operations of IT applications, including; QAD, EAM (MLS), Kronos, Concur, EDI Systems (Trinary), and Eagle.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages key vendor relationships and contracts for products, services, and support
- Works closely with the regional and global application support teams to ensure that regional needs and customer needs are identified and being met with the proper solutions that can be used globally
- Leads and manages staff to successfully support business applications and infrastructures
- Perform resource management, project planning; task assignment, support process oversight; and escalation management
- Manage team of resources with strong emphasis on trouble-shooting, problem solving and execution of corrective action
- Lead discussions with application and business teams regarding priority of support tickets to ensure compliance with stated service level agreements
- Carry out root-cause analyses, pro-active application maintenance and other risk reduction strategies to improve system reliability
- Work with business applications and development teams to achieve successful transition of software releases to production support
- Monitor and manage all application performance to meet business requirements and agreed service levels
- Define and enforce application support and maintenance organizational structure, processes, and policies
- Ensure compliance to and participate in enhancing documented IT standards
- Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning hiring, performance improvement plans and reviews, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
- Manage work relationships through motivation, supervision, team building and conflict management
- Support the Company's mission, vision, values and goals in performance of daily activities
- Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurable to support the departmental goals
- Responsible for adhering to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in management information systems, computer science or related field
- Minimum of five years experience as a manager or in a formal project leadership role on moderate to complex IT projects
- Experience working with or supporting IT Applications
- Experience developing and managing to budget
- Background in IT Applications with a strong knowledge of MFG PRO, EDI, Kronos & Eagle
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to capture business requirements and translate to a software solution
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Work with international colleagues possessing limited English skills. Bi-lingual experience is a plus (Portuguese, German, Italian, Polish, Korean, Chinese)
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project Management software
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

Systems Analyst / Programmer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.

- Reviews user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations.
- Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
- Revises program for corrections, enhancements, or system environment changes.
- Trains end users or technical support staff to use and support program.
- Coordinates with other programmers about program revisions.
- Modifies and maintains software programs written by others.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progress programming experience required.
- QAD (Mfg/Pro) experience required.
- EDI experience with mapping tools a strong plus.
- Automotive experience a plus.
- Database experience a plus (Oracle or MS SQL).

Systems Analyst

The incumbent contributes to the achievement of the PPG Aerospace Total Service Solutions (TSS) business platform by identifying opportunities for effective use of technology and developing, implementing, and supporting IT solutions on time and on budget that support the platform's business plans. Incumbent must provide analytical and technical expertise within the TSS business platform, performing analysis, design, development and implementation of business solutions. In this capacity, they must maintain awareness of current IT projects within PPG Aerospace in order to promote application sharing. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with company customers, staff members, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces, assess available technologies, and develop and present viable solution options. The incumbent maintains knowledge of the TSS business processes used by systems applications and has the ability to participate in the business support planning process. This includes the ability to evaluate application software packages, as well as other alternatives and make recommendations to management. The incumbent must be proficient in translating business requirements into software, communications, and equipment requirements for application development. This includes performing feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate design, formulating and defining application scope and objectives, and implementing complete solutions. From an application maintenance perspective, incumbents must respond appropriately to system maintenance requests and use their analytical abilities and technical skills to isolate problems, fix immediate needs, analyze all ramifications and implement solutions. They must have the ability to identify barriers to meeting goals, and provide solutions to keep projects on track and on budget. Incumbents also assure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.
Successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training. Candidates must have at least two years of directly applicable experience. Proficiency in QAD MFG/PRO and Progress, and knowledge of Microsoft .Net web development and SQL Server. Extensive analytical abilities and technical skills to evaluate alternative approaches and to recommend the most feasible and economical solutions. Proven ability to design applications using the appropriate systems architecture, database structures, and communication and network technologies. Strong and demonstrated project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation. Demonstrated ability to lead and effectively participate in teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms. Ability to work without close supervision, keeping focused on short and long-term objectives. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Incumbent must be able to travel at least 25% of the time and be expected to travel approximately 75% percent of the time during new program implementations.
